The Science of Aromatherapy

The Science of Aromatherapy

All living matter can be measured in MHz (megahertz)

The Roses energy has been measured at 320 MHz (highest level of any living thing). The human body has been measured at 62-68 MHz (healthy) at time of cold or flu it drops to 58 MHz , and at the time of death a human has a electrical vibration of 25 MHz.  This is not wizardry or sorcery this is science and Ancient Knowledge.

In Aromatherapy we use oils to raise or lower MHz of the human body through the olofactory senses.  These senses take the essential oils to the blood stream and to the brain, this is why a scent can transport you to a memory or place.  The olfactory(sense of smell) actually stimulates memories in the brain as well as other body systems.   The nose is truly a unique system in the body with millions of nerve endings all serving a purpose.

OIls of the Bible

“Take also for yourself the finest of spices: of flowing myrrh five hundred shekels, and of fragrant cinnamon half as much, two hundred and fifty, and of fragrant cane two hundred and fifty, and of cassia five hundred, according to the shekel of the sanctuary, and of olive oil a hin. You shall make of these a holy anointing oil, a perfume mixture, the work of a perfumer; it shall be a holy anointing oil.”
Exodus 30:23-25

"Aromatherapy is the use of therapeutic grade essential oils to improve ones wellness.  According to the FDA essential oils are not drugs, therefore claims cannot be made that essential oils can cure or treat diseases. Terms such as antibacterial, antiviral, anti-inflammatory, anti-fungal etc. are medical terms and cannot be used in conjunction with essential oils."

However, there is significant scientific evidence that essential oils are very affective, and there are thousands of years of clinical and personal evidence to support aromatherapy!
As Christians we have a higher authority. God commanded the Moses to make holy anointing oil and incense. Jesus sent his disciples out into the country to preach and anoint. And in the letter James wrote he recommended that if any Christian is sick to call for the elders in order to be anointed.

"The trouble now is that most literature that you read about aromatherapy is often steeped with New Age, Hindu and Buddhist philosophies. As Christians we should be able to weed out the other religious philosophies and concentrate on the biology of aromatherapy and the Biblical refernces."

Pray, ask God to help you discern the truth. Use this site for Biblical refernces and other resources.
Why should you believe me? Well I am a collge leveled trained aromatherapsut, progressive nature led Christian
I believe there is one all-knowing God above all demi-beings, The Holy of Holy -The Elhiom- The All , who created this world with all of its plants, knowingly designed exactly what we humans would need for healthy living. It is our duty to partake of the abundance of the Creator's Pharmacy.

“Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow. (Psalms 51:7)
Myrrh — (Commiphora myrrha) Myrrh was used in burial and was highly regarded by
David and Solomon. It was one of the ingredients of the holy anointing oil."

**REVISED 2025  THAK YOU JESUS

“Take also for yourself the finest of spices: of flowing myrrh five hundred shekels, and of fragrant cinnamon half as much, two hundred and fifty, and of fragrant cane two hundred and fifty, and of cassia five hundred, according to the shekel of the sanctuary, and of olive oil a hin. "Aromatherapy is the use of therapeutic grade plant essence and aromatic oils to improve ones wellness.  According to the FDA essential oils are not drugs, therefore claims cannot be made that essential oils can promote wellness. Remember, terms such as antibacterial, antiviral, anti-inflammatory, anti-fungal etc. are medical terms and one should always use t hero discernment when employing any alternative wellness products”.

There is significant scientific evidence that essential oils are very affective, and there are thousands of years of clinical and personal evidence to support the use plant aromatics !

As Christians we have a higher authority. God commanded the Moses to make holy anointing oil and incense. Jesus sent his disciples out into the country to preach and anoint. And in the letter James wrote he recommended that if any Christian is sick to call for the elders in order to be anointed.

The trouble in our currently worldly culture most literature that you read about the use of aromatics, essential oils, plants, and herbs is often steeped with New Age, Hindu ,Buddhist and even witchcraft traditions and philosophies. As Christians we should be able to weed out the other religious philosophies and concentrate on the biology of aromatherapy , the use of healing oils and the Biblical references.

Pray, ask God to help you discern the truth. The enemy has perverted the use of God’s of medicine cabinet. Throwing out God’s creations completely because a group or culture is misusing and perverting the use is not the answer either.

Paul encouraged believers, saying, “So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God” (1 Corinthians 10:31). When using essential oils, aromatics, herbs, and plants, we should do so in a way that honors God as the sovereign Creator and the ultimate source of healing. It is important to avoid practices that contradict biblical teachings. Those who incorporate essential oils, plants essences and armotaics into their lives should ensure their motives align with Scripture, using them with a heart of gratitude and worship, always trusting in God for true health and restoration.

Supporting Bible Verses:

  1. Ezekiel 47:12“Fruit trees of all kinds will grow on both banks of the river. Their leaves will not wither, nor will their fruit fail. Every month they will bear fruit, because the water from the sanctuary flows to them. Their fruit will serve for food and their leaves for healing.”
  2. Revelation 22:2“Down the middle of the great street of the city, on each side of the river stood the tree of life, bearing twelve crops of fruit, yielding its fruit every month. And the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations.”
  3. Genesis 1:29“Then God said, ‘I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food.’”

Why "The Rose of Sharon"

Why the Rose of Sharon?
"I am the rose of Sharon, the lily of the valleys"  Song of Solomon 2:1

King Solomon of the Bible's Old Testament was a powerful King from the House of David. He took a pagan bride, the daughter of a Pharaoh. .  He brought her to the House of David, which was upsetting for the people of Isreal. Solomon build many grand temples for his pagan bride for her pagan gods.   Later Solomon would build the grandest Temple of all time, The Temple of Israel in Jerusalem.
The Song of Solomon is a testament to his undying love not only for his pagan bride but for his God. The book is the most sultry book of the Bible filled with beautiful symbols of how lovely it felt to be with his bride. A testament to power of Love.

In addition my mother's name is Sharon, I chose the name the The Rose of Sharon not only for this King of Israel's great love for his bride and God , also for my love for my mother.
1 Kings 3:1 (King James Version)

"1And Solomon made affinity with Pharaoh king of Egypt, and took Pharaoh's daughter, and brought her into the city of David, until he had made an end of building his own house, and the house of the LORD, and the wall of Jerusalem round about."

Rose of Sharon( Cistus Ladanifer) is a common name that applies to several different species of flowering plants that are highly valued throughout the world.

Hebrew Word: Rose of Sharon
2261 tl,C,b;x] chabatstseleth {khab-ats-tseh'-leth}
Meaning: 1) meadow-saffron, crocus, rose

The rose of Sharon is a rockrose in which a sticky brown resin obtained from the shrubs of the Cistus ladanifer species. It has a long history of use in herbal medicine and as a perfume ingredient. Labdanum is a small sticky shrub which grows  with lance shaped leaves that are white and furry on the underside, and fragrant white flowers. This multi-petal flower is found in the fertile plain called Sharon between Jaffa and Mount Carmel in Israel. It has a honey scent from an aromatic gum that exudes from the plant.

"In ancient times, the Cistus Ladanifer was believed to be the Rose of Sharon. As goats and sheep roamed through the brush, this flower became entangled in their coats. While caring for their sheep, the shepherds would collect it from their wool and rub the resin on their cuts and wounds to soothe them. It was also collected by the shepherds and sold to coastal traders. The false beards worn by the pharaohs of ancient Egypt were actually soaked the hair of goats soaked with labdanum. " (Rebecca Totilo)

The rose of Sharon and lily of the valley are also a metaphor for theLove of Christ.  Like Solomon's love for his pagan bride, Christ too suffered for his teachings, Love, and compassion for ALL people.

What is Aromatherapy?

Aromatherapy is the systematic use of volatile plant oils known as essential oils It is a form of complementary therapy designed to treat the whole person and not just the symptom or ailment by assisting the body's natural ability to balance, regulate, heal and maintain itself. Relaxing and stimulating to the bodies systems these oils can be used to treat the bodies systems and overall emotional and mental states.
Essential oils consist of tiny aromatic molecules that are readily absorbed via the skin, and when breathed  they enter the lungs. These therapeutic  next enter the bloodstream and are carried around the body where they can deliver their beneficial healing powers. Because they are highly concentrated, only a small quantity of essential oil is required to bring about results.

 What are Essential Oils?

The easy answer is this. . .

Essential oils are the "life-blood" of the plant.

All plants whether they be flowers, shrubs, roots, trees, bushes, or even seeds contain aromatic essences. These essences in the plant serve as blood does in your body. This means they designed to cleanse, oxygenate, nourish, protect, and heal.

Essential oils are different than fatty oils.  Fatty oils are only needed until a new plant is able to produce its own food, essential oils are "essential" to the life of the plant.

The unique properties of a plant, the essential oils are not only vital to plant life, they also contribute to the well being of humans. This is why essential oils have been used medicinally all through history to kill bacteria, fung and viruses.

Not all essential oils are the same due to the fact that plants vary in their makeup. This means that particular oils are preferred over others for addressing certian problems and or spiritual concerns.

Commercially available essential oils differ because they are produced for specific purposes. There are essential oils that are fragrance grade, food grade,  and others that are therapeutic-grade.

Therapeutic grade oils have the highest standards, and are the focus of this website.

When purchasing and using essential oils for therupuetic use, it is important to be sure the essentials you are getting are Grade A Therapauetic. Unfortnely , there are many adulterated oils on the market today.  Our Rose of Sharon® works very hard to seek out an use only the highest quaklity pure wild or certifed organic oils.

The Historyn of Essential Oils

What is the History of Essentials Oils

"Mankind has used oils since the beginning of recorded time. "

Oils was at one time as precious as gold.

Used to fragrance, as currency, in prayer and healing.

The history of essential oils is long and interesting. Very much Like gold, essential oils have been around for thousands of years.  Similar to  gold, essential oils experience occasions when they appear to draw little interest or are virtually unknown. However,  like gold, the interest in essential oils surges when people are looking for reliability and value regarding their health and spiritual growth.
A few Historical Facts. . .

The Egyptians
The ancient Egyptians were known to use oils, herbs, and aromatic plants for medicinal purposes. A scroll dating back to 1500 B.C. reveals hundreds of remedies using oils. And when King Tut's tomb was opened in 1922, 50 alabaster jars for holding oils were discovered. The valued oils were no longer present because they were stolen by robbers who left the gold of the tomb behind.

The Bible
The Bible describes how a plague was stopped with an offering of incense, and how the temple was prepared with aromatic oils. In the New Testament we learn that the Christ child was given frankincense and myrrh, and later in His ministry was anointed with very costly spikenard. The scriptures contain a rich history involvingbiblical oils.

The Arabians
The Arabians, around 500 B.C., developed a thriving frankincense trade. Demand was so great that the trade route was known as the “Frankincense Trail.” Much later, the Arabian physician Avicenna improved the distillation process for essential oils and used them extensively in his medical practice.

The Greeks and Romans
The Greeks and Romans were also known to use essential oils. It is believed that Hippocrates, the “Father of Medicine,” halted a devastating plague in Athens with aromatics. An ancient Greek Physician, Dioscorides, wrote a book describing methods still used by aromatherapists today. The Romans used to purify public buildings by diffusing essential oils, and also used them in their steam baths to maintain good health.A number of notable historical figures are known to have a fondness for essential oils. Queen Hatshepsut, Alexander the Great, and Napolean all sought to obtain and use essential oils.

Essential oils were also used by early American colonists.

The beginning of pharmaceuticals
In the late 1800s laboratories began to isolate the active elements of natural remedies and started to reproduce them synthetically. By the early 1900s the public became impressed by the synthetic manufacture of drugs, and pharmaceutical companies became major sponsors of medical schools.
This explains the huge dominance of pharmaceuticals in our own day. And why essential oils were largely forgotten.

The reemergence of essential oils
But things of value have a way of coming back. And for this reason the history of essential oils continues.

Essential oils made their modern comeback in France. In 1910 Dr. Rene-Maurice Gattefosse was covered by burning substances as a result of an explosion in his laboratory. Immediately he put his hands in a lavender rinse, and the gangrenous gasification of the tissue stopped and healing began.
This experience led Dr. Gattefosse to focus his research on the healing power of essential oils.

Modern history of essential oils
Shortly thereafter, essential oils began to be used during World War I, due to their anti-bacterial and wound healing properties.Another French doctor, Jean Valnet, used essential oils to treat battlefield injuries in World War II. Since that time, one of Dr. Valnet's students, Jean Lapraz, discovered that microbes could not survive in the presence of certain essential oils.
In the middle 1980s research began that led to the recovery of essential oils in the United States.
Today, the role that essential oils may play in combating present-day diseases is being studied at a growing rate.

Hospitals and clinics are increasingly using aromatics
And one doctor, Dr. Alan Hirsch, has even said that the day will come when essential oils will be in the medicine cabinet of every home.

This trend in the recent history of essential oils shows that those things that are of value are sure to attract attention, even after being ignored for a long time. It's true for gold, and it's true for essential oils.
